Successful Spain test (20 March-3 April)

22-23 March - Alcarras
For any other rider, conditions were far from ideal. I however thoroughly enjoyed the half wet/dry track and intermittent rain, as I knew it would prepare me for racing in BSB! Our goal to find the perfect clutch setting was met on day 1, so we proceeded to test different wet suspension settings.

25-27 March - Cartagena
Day 1 of the official KNMV test was used to get comfortable at speed on a dry track again, since of course it'd been almost half a year since I was on the bike! This is the first time I ever ride the same bike for a second year, so I had high expectations for myself. These were most definitely met on day 2, with some tips from Barry Veneman. I was set to make more improvements on day 3, however we struggled with heat management for the bike which saw me unable to improve my pace. Instead we worked on technique and my starts!

30 March-1 April - Almeria
After a much needed day off, Dennis and I set out for Almeria. We were again amazingly taken care of Bike Promotion, with our private pit box and lots of tracktime. First, Dennis had to do some maintenance and check if I didn't ruin the clutch with all my practice starts! Didn't think it possible, but it was even hotter than at Cartagena, meaning we again struggled keeping the bike cool and had to work on something other than outright speed. Bike Promotion organised a race at the end of day 2, in which I won my class! First win of the season!

All in all I'm extremely happy with this test, we changed up the suspension and found a great base setup which I was able to get familiar with. I was faster and more comfortable out on track than I've ever been, it feels good to head into the BSB season with confidence!
